Description

1975 Willie Stargell Game Worn Pittsburgh Pirates Uniform. Spectacular full road grey uniform exhibits strong wear from the Hall of Fame slugger affectionately remembered as "Pops." Early knit style features classic black and yellow "Pirates" font on chest, with number "8" applied to lower chest and verso. Lower left front tail holds "Wilson [size] 46" label beneath an embroidered swatch announcing "8 46 75," the jersey number, size and year of issue respectively. Matching pants are tagged "Wilson [size] 38" with swatch reading "8 38 24 75," the middle two numbers representing waist and inseam. A markered number at interior pocket suggests secondary use in spring training, and the strong wear on both garments is further indication of this fact. There is no damage to be found, however, leaving the ensemble in Cooperstown-quality condition in more ways than one. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
