1975 Jim Rice Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. With Hall of Fame heritage, American League Championship season vintage, and magnificent wear, this road grey knit is certain to land in the crosshairs of the most discriminating jersey collector. The 1975 season was Rice's second in a sixteen-year career spent entirely in service of the Red Sox, who properly retired his number "14" after his departure. Those digits stand in red and navy tackle twill on the back of this important garment, balanced by the classic Old English "Boston" on the chest. Interior collar holds "McAuliffe Uniform Corp" and size "42" labels, with "1975" year tag and washing instructions label at lower center front tail. Infield clay and tobacco juice stains the chest, indicative of the heavy wear likewise apparent in the soft feel of the tagging and tackle twill identifiers. A lengthy 10/10 black sharpie notation on front reads, "James Edward Rice, Game Worn, 1978 AL M.V.P., 8x All Star, H.O.F. 09." Rice spent the 1975 postseason on the DL after being hit on the wrist by a pitch during the final week of the regular season. How's that for proof of the Curse of the Bambino? LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
