Description

1975 Dave Winfield Game Worn San Diego Padres Uniform. One of the greatest multi-sport athletes in American history, Dave Winfield was drafted by the NFL, NBA, and Major League Baseball.

The 6-6 220-pounder was power, fast, fast, and graceful. A bonafide long ball threat and dependable RBI producer, Winfield was at his best with runners on base. He was also a swift and aggressive base runner and possessed an arm not to be challenged, even from as far away as the warning track.

The home white, button-down knit jersey on offer here displays "Padres 31" on the front and "Winfield 31" on the verso, all in brown/gold tackle twill identifiers. Meanwhile, gold/brown trim adorns the neck and sleeve cuff. Tagging includes "Wilson 44" in the collar and "31 75 44" in brown chainlink on a white swatch in the tail. Matching button-front/drawstring pants feature brown/gold/brown alternate trim on the waist and legs with "Wilson 35" and "31 75 34 28" tagging inside.

The jersey and pants display fine season-long wear. The excessive wear visible on the jersey's identifiers suggests that the garment saw action subsequent to the 1975 campaign; perhaps in Spring Training and post-MLB play.

Winfield was never better or cooler than he was when he played for the Padres during the 1970's when he was young, talented and possessed unlimited potential. Here is your chance to own Dave Winfield at twenty-three-years-old. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
