Description

1975 Carlton Fisk Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. His wildly gesticulating walk-off to force a seventh game in the 1975 World Series remains one of the most dramatic moments in the history of our national pastime, assuring the immortal desirability of the garment we proudly offer here. This home white knit pullover is the identical twin to the garment Pudge was wearing as he sent New England into joyous rapture with his ricochet off the left field foul post, except for a Massachusetts Bicentennial left sleeve patch that suggests the shirt was carried over for a second season's work in 1976.

Classic Old English font spells "Red Sox" in two-tone tackle twill on the chest, giving way to long-since retired number "27" on reverse. Interior collar begins with "McAuliffe [size] 44" tagging, which concludes with a "1975" and washing instructions label at lower left front tail. The jersey exhibits light but definite game wear, and is 100% original and unaltered but for the aforementioned sleeve patch. Some water staining at left hip is not a major distraction and could be obscured nearly entirely with careful display. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
