1974 Ray Fosse Game Worn Oakland Athletics Jersey from World Series Season, MEARS A10. If not for one single play, Ray Fosse may have been the finest catcher of his era. While we will never know if Cooperstown would come calling, the 1970 All-Star Game collision involving Pete Rose bowling over the upstart is talked about to this day. Fosse suffered a devastating shoulder injury, which didn't heal properly, and was a shell of his former self. Even after the injury, Fosse made the All-Star squad. Offered is possibly the best Fosse game worn jersey from his days in Oakland. MEARS graded the heavily-worn pullover A10. Heavy puckering has overtaken the white-on-yellow tackle twill team insignia and numbers. "Fosse" is straight sewn to the reverse in single-color white. There is a break on the first "S" in the last name. The front interior features four labels: "1974," "McAuliffe," "size 44" and washing instructions. LOA from MEARS, A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
