    Description

1973 Tug McGraw Game Worn New York Mets Jersey. Best remembered for his strikeout of Kansas City Royals outfielder Willie Wilson to finalize the Philadelphia Phillies' 1980 World Series Championship, McGraw proudly donned this home white pinstriped gamer seven seasons earlier with the National League Champion New York Mets. Classic blue and orange tackle twill nickname is scripted across chest, with number "45" on lower chest and verso. As should be apparent, the wear on the "Mets" and rear number is considerably less than that of the front number, indicating that the former were replaced at some point after McGraw's use. But that front number "45" is original, as is the collar swatch noting size, year and jersey number: "41 73 45." Team logo patch is original at left sleeve. "Rawlings [size] 42" label at lower left front tail. A blue sharpie signature on chest completes the package. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
