Description

1973 Rollie Fingers Game Worn Jersey. Al Dark, who would take over the managerial duties for the Oakland Athletics the season after this jersey was issued, once quipped to the press, "A fellow has to have faith in God above and Rollie Fingers in the bullpen." Remembered both as one of the game's greatest relievers and as the guy with the crazy mustache, Fingers suited up in this bright yellow road pullover during the second of three consecutive World Championship seasons. Team logo "A's" appears over the heart in green and white tackle twill, with "Fingers 34" residing on verso. Inner front tail has sewn stacked labels reading, "1973, McAuliffe Uniform Corp., 42" respectively. A washing instructions tag appears near the right seam. The jersey shows fine wear from Fingers' first All-Star season, and would receive a perfect rating if not for some red staining at the left sleeve and apparent rust spotting on front and back. Still a highly desirable Hall of Fame knit. MEARS A6. LOA from MEARS.
