1973 Larry Dierker Game Worn Houston Astros Jersey. He made his Major League debut on his eighteenth birthday for the 1964 Houston Colt 45's and spent all but the final season of his playing career in support of the franchise, returning in the late 1990's to manage the club and in 2002 to see his number "49" jersey retired by the franchise. Here we present a shooting star knit jersey worn by the Astros favorite. This "Wilson size 46" jersey was worn by Dierker in 1973. The team name and a shooting star are chenille-filled making it one of the most coveted knits of any era. "Dierker" is arched atop the verso numbers in two-color tackle twill. Each of the identifiers shows proper wash wear. The left sleeve is accentuated with an Astros circular team patch. Navy/white/orange trim surrounds the neck and both sleeve inserts. The collar holds a period Wilson tag while "73" is found on a swatch in the tail. A fully functional zipper keeps this beauty together. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
