1973-74 Yogi Berra Game Worn New York Mets Coach's Jersey.
Sabermetrics calculates him to be the greatest catcher of all time, and his thirteen World Championship rings, including a record ten as a player, commemorate a record as untouchable as any in the sport. Berra was notorious for being one of the toughest outs in the Major Leagues when at the plate, five times recording more home runs than strikeouts in a season. But in his defensive role Berra was arguably even better, topping the Junior Circuit eight times in putouts as catcher, three times in assists, and once in fielding percentage.

While Berra was most known for his run in pinstripes, this unique offering originates from the days he was skipper of that "other" New York baseball squad. Berra wore the offered "Wilson size 44" jersey while on the road in 1973 and also in '74 when the team adopted a slight change to their attire. From 1972-73, the Mets' road jerseys had "New York" in two-color tackle twill. In '74 the team adopted "Mets" in cursive script. This button-up knit has remnants of where "New York" once stood and was converted to its current form for use in 1974. Wonderful wear is shown on the jersey with consistent puckering throughout. A lone swatch in the collar reads: "8 73 44" which denotes player number, year and size. The tail features a Wilson size tag. Berra signed the front in 9/10 black felt tip and personalized the signature. The left sleeve contains a Mets skyline patch. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
