1972 Larry Dierker Game Worn Houston Astros Jersey. He was the youngest player in the Majors when he rookied at age seventeen with the 1964 Houston Colt 45's, and was still wearing a Houston jersey almost four decades later, leading the club to the NL Central Championship four out of his five seasons as the club's manager. This road grey jersey was utilized on the field by Dierker during his ninth season on the mound in Houston, a solid fifteen and eight campaign that included five complete game shutouts. The tough four-year style features orange and navy tackle twill "Houston" across the chest and "Dierker 49" on verso. Team logo patch affixed at left sleeve. Zipper front remains operational. "Spalding Professional" maker's label at lower left front tail, with size "48" and year "72" tags adjacent. Solid wear. A great relic from one of the city's most popular baseball figures. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
