    Description

1972 Hank Allen Game Worn Chicago White Sox Jersey with Pants. The Chicago White Sox entered into the knit era with a bang. The team wore red pinstripes to go with red-on-white identifiers. This "Wilson size 42" gamer was made for Sam Ewing and then used by Hank Allen in 1972-73. Provenance is concrete as a letter from Luke Appling's granddaughter will attend. Appling wore "4" with the Sox when he served as a coach. The jersey shows good overall use with puckering to the identifiers. "Ewing" is chainstitched into the collar. The tail features a period Wilson size tag and "72 Set 2" swatch. Also included are "Wilson size 38" pants. A swatch on the inside reveals "25 72 Set 2." Tony Muser wore that number in '72. Red stirrups complete this unique ensemble. Letter of provenance from Tammy Dribble McLaughlin (Luke Appling's granddaughter). LOA from Heritage Auctions.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
