1971 Jim Shellenback Game Worn Washington Senators Jersey. Pristine button-down, bluish-gray flannel jersey, worn by pitcher Jim Shellenback for the Washington Senators final season (the next year the franchise became the Texas Rangers), reports "Senators" diagonally scripted across the chest for the last time with "16" on the verso, all sewn on in red and midnight navy tackle twill. A "Wilson 44" tag appears in the collar with "1971 - Set 2" perfectly stitched in the tail in midnight navy thread. Soft and pliable from repeated washings, the identifiers exhibit puckering and the flannel fabric itself is vibrant and free of any noticeable distractions. While the Senators lived up to their namesake by performing miserably and ineffectively, they did however leave us with one of the most attractive uniform designs from their swansong in our nation's capital and the sunset of the flannel era.
