    A "Killer" representation!

1971 Harmon Killebrew Game Worn Minnesota Twins Jersey, MEARS A10. "No individual has ever meant more to the Minnesota Twins organization and millions of fans across Twins territory than Harmon Killebrew," Twins president Dave St. Peter declared in his 2011 eulogy of the fallen slugger. The statement was not the least bit controversial. For twenty-one seasons and 2,329 games, Killebrew had served the franchise with honor, leaving Minnesota after the 1974 season owning the team record for appearances, home runs, runs batted in and total bases, each still standing to this day.

So for the legions of Twins faithful, it doesn't get any better than game worn flannel from the beloved Killer. Here we present a fine example thereof, worn during the season that the iconic slugger earned his key to the 500 Home Run clubhouse. He'd lead the Junior Circuit in both RBI's (119) and walks (114) in 1971, proving that he was the most effective offensive weapon in the American League, and the most feared.

A scripted "Twins" spans the chest of the jersey in navy and red tackle twill, with the since-retired number "3" similarly affixed to verso. Left sleeve holds the team logo patch. Lower left front tail reveals "Spalding Professional [size] 46" tagging and an embroidered "71 Set 2" swatch. Solid, consistent game wear is evident throughout, with minimal staining at lower front likely the result of chewing tobacco. The jersey is consigned to Heritage by the uncle of an early 1970's Twins bat boy. A picture-perfect representation, worthy of inclusion in the finest of private collections. LOA from MEARS, A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Letter of provenance from consignor.
