Description

1971 Don Sutton Game Worn Jersey. Fourteenth on the all-time list for career victories, Sutton's skill and durability earned him 324 W's during a career in which he shared a Dodgers rotation with both Sandy Koufax and Fernando Valenzuela. This road grey flannel dates from the sixth of his twenty-three Major League seasons, exhibiting the strong wear one would expect from the Hall of Fame workhorse. Classic blue and white felt "Dodgers" script slants across the chest above a red number "20," with those digits repeated in blue and white on verso. The proper "Rawlings [size] 42" label appears inside collar, and a blue thread "Sutton 71" is embroidered in left front tail. Tearing of the body at the loop of the "g" in "Dodgers" on the chest could easily be repaired, as could the lifting of small portions of the numerals on verso. A fine early-career representation from one of an esteemed stable of Dodgers Hall of Fame hurlers. LOA from Lou Lampson.
