    Description

1970 Luis Tiant Game Worn Jersey. Tremendously scarce relic dates from the All-Star righty's single season in Minnesota, a brief stop-over between the Indians and Red Sox teams for which he is best remembered. The road grey flannel checks off every box for an ideal gamer, remaining 100% original down to the buttons on the chest and the team logo patch on the left sleeve. "Twins" is spelled across the chest in navy and red tackle twill, with Tiant's number "33" affixed to the rear. A felt swatch applied to the interior collar provides a chainstitched "Tiant," while "Tiant 33, 44 70 Set 2" is embroidered directly into the jersey body at lower front left tail. A simple "Spalding" label resides to the south. The size tag to the right has been lost over the years, but the stitching path where it had been remains. Wear is appropriate for a season of ninety-two and two-thirds innings pitched. A fine black sharpie signature at lower left, with his "El Tiante" nickname included, completes the package. Jersey derives from the famous early 1980's Minnesota find of Twins flannels. LOA from Lou Lampson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
