1970 Gail Hopkins Game Worn Chicago White Sox Jersey. One of the most fantastic designs ever worn on a baseball uniform, this rare and beautiful one-year-style pastel blue road flannel displays "Chicago White Sox" scripted on a diagonal across the chest with "35" offset below left, all sewn on in white on blue tackle twill. The verso reverses the color scheme, with "Monchak 35" all sewn-on in blue on white tackle twill. "Hopkins" is chainlink stitched in blue thread on a gray swatch in the collar, with a "Wilson 42" tag in the tail above "1970-4."

The jersey was originally worn by infielder Gail Hopkins (#18) in 1970. After Hopkins was traded, the jersey was re-numbered and re-lettered for coach Alex Monchak (#35), who wore it in during Spring Training in 1971 before the team adopted a new style uniform for the 1971 season. Fine game wear evident on this absolutely stunning design. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
