1970 Bob Lemon Game Worn Kansas City Royals Jersey. A dozen years after throwing his final pitch for the Cleveland Indians franchise for which he had provided all thirteen seasons of his Hall of Fame playing career, Lemon took his first steps as a Big League manager while wearing this home white Kansas City Royals flannel. Lemon took over the managerial reins after the dismissal of Charlie Metro at the fifty-five game mark in 1970, remaining at the helm through the 1972 season, though today he is best remembered for piloting the 1978 Yankees to World Championship glory. The presented jersey exhibits light but definite wear, proper for a non-player, and retains ideal displayability. "Royals" is scripted across the chest in blue tackle twill, with number "2" applied to verso. Team logo patch is at left sleeve. Interior collar holds "Set 1-70" embroidered swatch, and lower left front tail features proper "Wilson [size] 44" tagging. An exciting opportunity to bring a genuine Hall of Fame flannel into your private collection. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
