    Description

1970-71 Fred Lasher Game Worn Cleveland Indians Jersey. While teams tend to break out new jerseys for just about every occasion now, back in the 1970's every dollar was counted and utilized. In 1970, the Cleveland Indians took a huge step forward by introducing a 3-D drop shadow pinstriped jersey. But a step was taken back the next year when those same Indians went to a scaled down version and dropped the eye-grabbing uniforms for a simpler style. Many of the same jerseys used in 1970 were stripped down and re-used the following season. Such is the plight of this very game-worn Fred Lasher flannel. Tagged for use in 1970, the jersey was donned the following season and purchased by our consignor at a team sale in the late '70's. An Indians team patch is affixed to the left sleeve. The tail contains a "Wilson [size] 44" label and "1970" year tag. Lasher wore #36 for the Indians in '71 and we are attributing the use to him. The numbers and "Indians" are readministered by a team associate, possibly at a later date. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
