    Description

1969 Seattle Pilots Original & Unrestored Full Uniform. This "blink and you'll miss it" franchise brought Major League Baseball to the Pacific Northwest during the Summer of Love, but, against FAA regulations, the Pilots turned to beer after one season amidst the pine and fog for rebirth as the 1970 Milwaukee Brewers. This footnote to baseball history has long been a hobby favorite, and collectors are aware that most surviving Pilots uniforms are actually restored to original condition after having been repurposed for a second season's wear in Wisconsin.

But this rare ensemble bucks that trend, the first complete and unrestored Pilots uniform we've ever offered. It derives from the personal collection of William Clark, a veteran Major League scout who got his start in Seattle. "I wore the uniform while performing my duties at baseball try-out camps that summer," he writes in his included letter of provenance.

The home white flannel jersey features that great striped sleeve cuffing in the same blue and yellow that forms "66 Pilots" on the chest and a larger "66" on verso. Upper left chest holds the winged baseball logo. Interior collar holds the "Clark" surname, while lower left front tail is embroidered "1969" below a "Wilson [size] 48" label.

Matching pants are tagged "Wilson [size] 40" at interior waistband with "69-P65-24" and "Clark" embroidered swatches. Beyond toning at the waistband from the bleeding dye of a belt (not included), jersey and pants present without any distractions. Also included is a NRMT and unlabeled example of the Pilots' classic cap. Letter of provenance from Seattle Pilots scout William Clark.
