1969 Seattle Pilots Game Worn Jersey. While the Seattle Mariners have since come to thrive in the Pacific Northwest, it seemed in 1969 that the fans of Seattle just weren't ready for Big League baseball. And so, after just a single season of operation, the team gave up flying for drinking, shedding the name "The Seattle Pilots" to become "The Milwaukee Brewers." In the ensuing years, the Pilots have taken on a sort of cult status among collectors, and game worn jerseys from that short-lived team are in particularly high demand. Here we present one of those rare jerseys, the beautiful sky blue road model considered by many the most attractive Major League style of the era. Most jersey collectors understand that these jerseys were used the following season in Milwaukee, and it must be noted that the "Seattle" and logo patch on the chest are restored. The pattern of the old "Brewers" lettering is clearly visible when held up to the light. The number "29" on the verso is likewise restored, and the 100th Anniversary patch on the left sleeve was reaffixed, but is original and vintage. Records show no number "29" on either the '69 Pilots or '70 Brewers, and the "Stephan 44" embroidered swatch in the collar does not help in our search for the former owner. Likely it was issued to a player who never made the official roster. The tail holds all the original tagging: "Spalding [size] 44" and a washing instructions tag with a "Set 1 1969" flap affixed. Absolutely first rate condition, with not even a hint of damage. LOA from Lou Lampson.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
