1969 Joe Pepitone Game Worn New York Yankees Jersey. A Brooklyn native and fan favorite during the 1960's, Joe Pepitone's off-field exploits and bluntness were as captivating as his diamond achievements, which included seven career grand slams, three All-Star berths, and three Gold Gloves.

Pepi's Yankee gamer from his final season in the Bronx is a home white pinstripe flannel with "NY" over the left chest and "49" on the verso, all sewn-on in midnight navy felt. "Pepitone" is beautifully scripted in blue chainlink atop a white felt swatch in the collar, with the following four tags in the tail: "Spalding," "44," "Set 1 1969," and washing instructions. Also, "69" appears in blue chainlink below the tags.

Note: When the jersey was relegated to minor league use, the back number was changed (from "25" to "49") and the 100th Anniversary patch, which once resided on the left sleeve, was removed. However, the rest of the garment is original and displays wonderfully. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
