    Description

1969 Joe Morgan Game Worn Houston Astros Jersey. Best remembered today as essential gear in the Big Red Machine, the diminutive Morgan proved good things come in small packages as he cruised to Cooperstown induction on the strength of ten All-Star nods, five Gold Gloves, two National League MVP awards and two World Championship rings. Here we find a grey flannel roadster from the 1969 Baseball Centennial season, complete with the distinctive patch affixed to left sleeve (original patch sourced from another jersey). Astros team logo patch balances the design at right, with "Houston" spanning the chest in navy felt and orange tackle twill. The number "18" is similarly applied to verso. Interior collar holds embroidered swatch denoting size, jersey number and year (40 18 69), and lower left front tail is labeled "Rawlings [size] 40" with a washing instruction tag and "Set 1 1969" flap. Jersey exhibits solid wear but no condition issues beyond some minor loss to left sleeve cuff. Chest is autographed in 7/10 black sharpie. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
