1969 Joe Coleman Game Worn Washington Senators Jersey. Sometimes a change of scenery can make all the difference. Such was the case for Joe Coleman, a first-round choice by the Washington Senators in 1965. A trade to the Detroit Tigers proved to be the perfect tonic for the sub .500 pitcher. Following being jettisoned to Detroit, Coleman won twenty games twice in a three season span. This "Wilson size 42" flannel jersey saw action during the 1969 campaign. Consistent wear is the hallmark of the road representation as puckering and identifier softening are visible throughout. "Senators" is underscored on front while "60" is administered to the reverse. A number change replaced the "2" with "6". We believe the jersey was recycled for use the following Spring Training. A period Wilson size tag is sewn in the collar and "1969" is stitched directly to the tail. The rear interior has a name written in thick black marker, most likely an invitee. A MLB 100th Anniversary patch decorates the left sleeve. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
