1969 Hoyt Wilhelm Game Worn California Angels Jersey. A war hero with a Purple Heart earned in the instrumental Battle of the Bulge, Wilhelm returned to civilian life with a fluttering knuckleball he rode all the way to Cooperstown. Here we present a road grey flannel sported during Wilhelm's single season of service to the Angelic cause, a campaign that saw him make forty-four relief appearances to add to his 1,070 game career total, fifth most in pitching history. "Angels" is applied in artfully fonted navy and red felt on the chest, with number "35" similarly sewn to reverse. The important Major League Centennial patch remains affixed at left sleeve. Lower left front tail is tagged "McAuliffe Uniform Corp," with "'69" year and "42" size labels below. Solid wear throughout. Chest is signed in 10/10 blue sharpie. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
