1969 Doug Rader Game Worn Houston Astros Jersey. Doug Rader, aka The Red Rooster, was a fielding dynamo for the Houston Astros. The possessor of five Gold Gloves, Rader managed in the big leagues following his successful playing career. Worn by Rader during the 1969 season is this "Rawlings [size] 44" road flannel jersey. The name on front has been restored as the two-color tackle twill identifiers have midnight navy or black. Remnants of original team name on front (glue affixed) are visible. The two-tone identifiers (felt on tackle twill) appear to be original. The MLB 100 years patch is missing but the left Astros disc patch is still affixed. Two labels appear in the tail: Rawlings size and washing instructions. "R" is written in thick marker in the tail. A swatch in the collar reads "44 12 69" denoting size, player number and year and "12" is written in black marker. This jersey was undoubtedly sent to the minors for a little extra seasoning.
