    Description

1969 Dick Simpson Game Worn Seattle Pilots Jersey. Eternally popular with jersey collectors for its scarcity--the franchise existed for just a single season--and its gorgeous styling, the presented road blue flannel is one of the nicest we've encountered from the team that would become the Milwaukee Brewers. Like essentially all Pilots jerseys in the hobby today, this one is restored to its former glory, with the "Seattle" and flying baseball on chest, number "16" on verso and genuine Centennial patch on left sleeve all professionally applied to their former positions. Tail holds "Spalding" manufacturer's label and a "40" size tag above washing instructions and "Set 1 1969" flap tag. The embroidered "Staehle 40" swatch in the collar is original, and references a player who never made it to the squad. We must assume that this jersey was issued to Dick Simpson, who was issued number "16" upon his trade to the Pilots from the New York Yankees in mid-May. The jersey exhibits solid wear but no damage of note, leaving it in ideal condition for display. LOA from Lou Lampson.
