1969 Dave Morehead Game Worn Kansas City Royals Jersey. The birth of a franchise! After a joyless and baseball-free summer of 1968 in Kansas City, the newly minted Royals moved into the Municipal Stadium left abandoned by the Athletics' move to Oakland. Here we present a road grey jersey worn by veteran right-hander Dave Morehead while traveling with the infant squad. "Kansas City" is scripted across the chest in the appropriately hued royal blue, with number "17" applied to verso. The Major League Centennial patch has been removed, likely indicative of secondary use during the 1970 season, but the outline is still readily apparent. Proper "Rawlings [size] 44" label is affixed at lower left front tail, framed by an embroidered "44 69 17" directly into the body of the jersey and a washing instructions label with "Set 1 1969" flap tag. Solid wear throughout. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
