1969 Bill Virdon Game Worn Pittsburgh Pirates Jersey. The 1955 National League Rookie of the Year shared an outfield with Roberto Clemente for a decade before transitioning to a coaching role, and it was in that capacity that Virdon wore the presented home white flannel vest. Classic black and gold "Pirates" text spans the chest above a number "7," with that digit repeated in larger format on reverse. Embroidered directly into the jersey body at lower left front tail is "Virdon 42 69." A "Rawlings [size] 42" label underscores this text, with a washing instruction label below this holding a "Set 1 1969" flap tag. Heavy wear suggests secondary use on the minor league circuit, but jersey is original and unaltered. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
