1968 Jerry Johnson Game Worn Philadelphia Phillies Jersey. If at first you don't succeed, try again. Such was the plight of Jerry Johnson. Signed as a third basemen, his fielding had some work to be desired. Converted into a pitcher because of his great arm, Johnson enjoyed a decade-long career at the big league level. Worn in his rookie season of 1968 is this pinstriped "Wilson [size] 42" Phillies jersey. Excellent use is shown with sweat staining under the arms. Setting this garment apart from other Phillies jerseys is the chenille filled "Phillies" on front and reverse "33" digits. "J. Johnson 68" is stitched directly to the collar while a Wilson size label and "Wilson 1968 Set 2" indicator is found in the tail. LOA from Heritage Auctions.Auction Info
