Description

1967 Juan Marichal Game Worn San Francisco Giants Jersey, MEARS A10. Born into poverty in the Dominican Republic, Marichal learned the game using handmade baseballs and tree branches for bats. With the most extravagant wind-up in the history of the Majors, he paved his way to Cooperstown, and his number "27" jersey is properly retired by the San Francisco Giants franchise. Here we present one of them, a road grey flannel dating to the second of three consecutive seasons atop the National League's strikeout-to-walks stat chart. The uniquely fonted "San Francisco" arches gently across the chest in Halloween colors with number "27" applied in the same two-tone tackle twill on verso. "Marichal" and "1967" appear on embroidered swatches at interior collar and lower left front tail respectively, the latter beneath a "Wilson [size] 42" manufacturer's label. "Good Luck, Juan Marichal 27" inscription at lower right front is 10/10. Moderate wear evident. A picture-perfect specimen without a single flaw to report. LOA from MEARS, A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
