    Description

1967 Jack Hamilton California Angels Game Worn Jersey. Road grey flannel gamer is believed to be the one Hamilton was wearing on the mound at Fenway when his tailing fast ball slammed into Tony Conigliaro's face, fracturing his cheekbone and eye socket and severely damaging his retina. Though Tony C would ultimately return to the game, he never regained his former brilliance. Hamilton likewise was permanently hampered, his effectiveness greatly compromised by his unwillingness to pitch inside. Two years later his career was over. "Angels" arches gently across the jersey's chest in navy and red felt, with number "24" similarly applied to verso--here the thread has come loose in a couple spots but the structural integrity of the digits is not affected. Red and blue piping trims collar and cuffs. Lower left front tail holds "Tim McAuliffe" manufacturer's label above "'67" year and "44" size tags. Solid wear. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
