1967-68 Mickey Mantle Game Worn Cap. Fine wear on this New York Yankees cap dates from the closing seasons of one of the finest careers in baseball, when the Mick was putting the finishing touches on his Hall of Fame numbers. Wear is particularly evident in the headband, which shows significant sweat staining and a handwritten number "7" in black marker, a digit that appears again under the visor. "New Era" tagging in the headband is joined by a size tag that has been partially obscured by wear but is either 7 1/8 or 7 1/4, well within Mantle's range. A flawless blue sharpie signature appears under the visor as well. The cap was sourced from a longtime Columbus Yankees farm club team associate and includes a letter of provenance from the longtime hobbyist who acquired it from him. LOA from Lou Lampson. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
