1966 Gene Oliver Game Worn Atlanta Braves Jersey. Gene Oliver was a steady backstop wherever he played. His ten-year career included stops in five cities, and he served mainly as a backup catcher. A year after hitting a career-best 21 home runs, Oliver wore this "MacGregor size 42" jersey with the Atlanta Braves. It was the team's first season in Atlanta. "Braves" is executed in cursive script across the front while "12" is included on both sides in two-color red-on-navy tackle twill. The left sleeve features a laughing Braves patch. Two tags occupy the collar: MacGregor size and a swatch which reads "Oliver 66 set 2." Moderate pilling marks are found on the back shoulder and one side has a few blue marks. Ventilation holes are fitted under the arms for a little relief from the heat. One button appears replaced. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
