    Description

1965 Jim Brewer Game Worn Los Angeles Dodgers Uniform. It was Hall of Fame hurler Warren Spahn who advised his fellow southpaw to develop his screwball, a pitch Brewer utilized to become one of the National League's premier relievers of the 1960's and 1970's. Only Don Sutton and Don Drysdale have more pitching appearances for the Dodgers than this man, who suited up in the presented road grey flannel during the World Championship season of 1965. The jersey features a blue felt scripted "Los Angeles" rising diagonally across the chest above a red number "21." The number is repeated in blue on verso. Proper "Rawlings [size] 44" label appears at lower left exterior tail above a blue "Brewer 65" embroidered directly into the jersey body. Washing instructions label at interior hem holds a "Set 1 1965" flap tag at its right edge. The jersey exhibits consistent wear with some light rust staining on the chest. Interior waistband of the matching pants holds the same "Rawlings" label with "Set 1 1965" flap tag, along with a washing instructions tag. An embroidered swatch announces "Brewer 35 26," noting waist and inseam measurements. A couple hand-markered names inside the waistband suggest secondary minor league usage. A rare full uniform from a key figure in a Koufax-era World Championship season. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
