1964 Stan Williams World Series Game Worn New York Yankees Jersey. Most veteran jersey collectors know that the Yankees would often debut their next season's jerseys in the World Series, and that is clearly the case here, as the right-handed pitcher to whom it was issued was dealt to Cleveland in late March of 1965. Williams didn't see action in the 1964 Fall Classic, and the jersey he wore in the bullpen at St. Louis was sent down to the minors where his original number "19" was changed to "17," but the "New York" on the chest was left untouched. Swatch at interior collar is embroidered "Williams-'65-1-46," and lower left front tail is tagged "Wilson [size] 46" beneath a handwritten "65" in black marker. Solid game wear. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
