    Description

1963 Jim Fregosi Game Worn Los Angeles Angels Jersey. A rookie with the inaugural 1961 expansion Los Angeles Angels, Fregosi grew up with this first west coast American League squad, serving as the team's shortstop and most beloved star during his eleven seasons wearing a halo. Presented is a rare home white flannel sported during the third season of Fregosi and the Angels' Major League toddlerhood, exhibiting fine wear from a campaign that earned Jim a place in the top twenty-five voting for AL MVP. Red and navy felt lettered "Angels" arches gently across the chest, with number "11" similarly applied to verso, though it must be noted that these identifiers are modern replacements. The original green "Fregosi 44 63" embroidred in green directly into lower left exterior tail definitively attributes the jersey to the star shortstop, however (as does the still-visible original stitching paths of number and team name). Heavily worn "Spalding" label remains at interior collar. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
