1962 Juan Marichal Game Worn & Signed San Francisco Giants Jersey, SGC Superior--National League Championship Season! Extraordinary specimen from the high-kicking Hall of Famer derives from his first of eight consecutive All-Star seasons, and one best remembered for the very last play of the World Series when Bobby Richardson snagged Willie McCovey's scorching line drive and thus victory from the jaws of defeat. Marichal suffered an injury in September of that season and only pitched four innings of Fall Classic action, leaving Giants fans to wonder what might have been had the Dominican Dandy been available at full strength.

He'd pitch 262.2 innings of regular season action this National League Championship season, winning eighteen games and striking out 153. He'd also appear in both All-Star Games, taking the victory in the first. The experts at SGC assess game wear as "moderate to heavy," that opinion validated by the supple softness of the identifiers and tagging. The former reports "Giants" in black felt on orange tackle twill across the chest, and Marichal's now-retired number "27" on verso. As is common with Giants jerseys of this era, there is minor separation of the anchor stitching of the rear numerals, though we advise those collectors who may be unfamiliar that "Superior" is the highest possible assessment under SGC uniform analysis, indicating 100% originality and fine game wear. "Marichal" is embroidered on a felt swatch at interior collar, and lower left front tail provides "Tim McAuliffe Inc." labeling with "62" year and "42" size subtags below.

A black sharpie signature on the chest completes the package, unquestionably one of the finest Marichal exemplars in private hands. A truly important specimen from the winningest pitcher of the 1960's (191), no small feat when considering the elite competition active during that decade. LOA from SGC, Superior. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
