A flawless representation from Mathews' ninth and final All-Star campaign!

1962 Eddie Mathews Game Worn Milwaukee Braves Jersey, MEARS A10. It's the most attractive uniform style of the post-war era, haute baseball couture that is certain to turn heads even in the absence of the Hall of Fame pedigree that this particular model provides. It represents the eleventh season of service to the Braves franchise by one of the most feared sluggers in the sport, a distinction documented by his 101 bases on balls in 1962, leading all National Leaguers in free passes to first. Mathews nonetheless went deep twenty-nine times the season this garment saw action, scoring 106 runs, his final triple-digit season in the statistic. He'd reach the 1,000 RBI plateau in 1962 and finish the season with 399 homers, inspiring his teammate Bob Uecker, with a single dinger to his name, to quip, "Between me and my roommate, we've hit 400 Major League home runs!"

The road grey flannel garment announces "Braves" across the chest in red and black felt script, underscored by the classic tomahawk imagery and bisected by a fully-functional zipper. The since-retired number "41" is applied to lower left chest, those digits repeated in larger format on verso. Left sleeve provides the distinctive screaming brave logo patch. Interior collar holds an embroidered felt swatch reporting, "Mathews Set 1-1962," while lower left front tail is affixed with a proper "Wilson [size] 44" manufacturer's label.

MEARS assesses wear as moderate and consistent and assures the garment is 100% original and unaltered. Absent is any of the staining or moth damage typical of half-century old flannel, earning the important relic the authentication service's highest grade assessment. A bold black sharpie autograph on the chest is the bow on this peerless package, a representation as fine as any in the hobby. LOA from MEARS, A10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
