1962-64 Houston Colt .45s Game Worn Jersey. This one's a leading vote-getter for best ever Major League jersey design, and the gunslinging appeal is tough to deny. These are also rare as hen's teeth, the result of a brief three-season lifespan before a move to the Astrodome inspired a corresponding name change. The presented home white flannel example was worn in Lone Star State by either Bobby Shantz (1962) or Jimmy Adair (1964), the only two Colts players to wear Jackie Robinson's fabled number "42," which appears on jersey verso. Front features the delectable chenille team logo, and it must be noted that a tackle twill ".45s" was affixed at some point below the logo and has since been removed to restore the shirt to its original appearance. A faint outline of the stitching pattern is visible upon close inspection. Otherwise the jersey remains original and unaltered, with "Wilson [size] 42" label in tail. A few scattered stains may be related to game use and do little to distract. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
