    Description

1961 Ken Aspromonte Game Worn Cleveland Indians Jersey & Pants from The Ken Aspromonte Collection.
Ken played for six teams in a seven-year career. In his only full season, he hit an impressive .288. His gray flannel road Cleveland Indians uniform is on offer here. The seven-button front jersey has a "MacGregor 44" blue label in the collar and a "Set 1 1961" flap tag in the tail. Blood red on navy blue canvas letters and numbers with "Indians" on the front and "2" on the verso and right sleeve. Best of all is the die-cut Chief Wahoo patch on the left sleeve. "MacGregor 36" pants have "9 36 25" on a rectangular white felt swatch in the waist. Solid game wear evident. Letter of provenance from Ken Aspromonte. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

    The Ken Aspromonte Collection

Born in Brooklyn in 1931, Aspromonte made his Major League debut on September 2, 1957, just a few weeks before the Dodgers broke the hearts of his friends and family with their Ebbets Field exit. The skilled second baseman led a peripatetic professional career, representing six Big League franchises in as many years before crossing the Atlantic as one of the early American representatives of Japan's Nippon League. We find the souvenirs of that exciting career on the pages that follow, consigned to this auction by Mr. Aspromonte himself. Each lot will be accompanied by his personal signed letter of provenance.
