1961 Kansas City Athletics Game Worn Jersey with Possible Attribution to Don Larsen - One Year Style. Plenty of collectors flock to the plethora of different styles of Major League flannel uniforms. The Kansas City Athletics only wore this "Wilson size 48" jersey style for one year before adopting a different configuration altogether. This jersey was originally issued to "18" for the 1961 season which was Don Larsen and then Billy Bryan. Both were 6-4 so the size is consistent. Following its big league use, the pinstriped jersey was sent to the minors where it was changed to its current "38" number. The team insignia, sleeve numbers and reverse two-color numbers are period and show ample game use. The tail includes a Wilson size tag and "No. 18 Set 2-61" embroidered directly to the jersey. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
