1961 Cleveland Indians #26 Game Worn Jersey. The Cleveland Indians were stuck in the middle of the standings in 1961 but they sure looked like champions. The team donned pinstripes in front of the home crowd and even had sleeve numbers so everyone could see their on-field exploits. This "Wilson size 44" jersey was tagged for use in 1961 but nobody with that number took the field. Our guess is that the jersey was carried over and used in 1962 as Don Rudolph, Dave Tyriver and Bob Hartman all assumed the digits. "Indians" is expressed over the chest while the sleeves are accentuated with a team patch (right") and sleeve numbers (left). The reverse has "26" centered. A Wilson size tag is joined by a "1961" swatch in the tail. The jersey is original and has not been altered. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
