Description

1960 Haywood Sullivan Game Worn Boston Red Sox Uniform. He's best remembered for his exploits in the Red Sox front office, including his instrumental role in assembling the 1967 "Impossible Dream" team, but Sullivan got his Fenway start as a back-up catcher, making sixty appearances for the club, mostly during the 1960 season he wore this road grey uniform. Classic understated jersey announces a navy blue felt "Boston" across the chest and number "30" on reverse. Lower left front tail holds "Tim McAuliffe Inc." label with "'60" year and "48" size tags. Soft heather grey undershirt with navy sleeves holds no tagging or player attribution, but is the style worn by the Sox and was sourced with the jersey. Pants feature "Tim McAuliffe Inc." label at interior collar with "'60" year tag, with embroidered "30" to the left and "38 29" to the right, indicating jersey number, waist and inseam respectively. Finally, a pair of striped stirrups are here, with embroidered number "13" and "35" appearing to suggest one unused, unlucky jersey number, and the other correct for coach and Hall of Famer Billy Herman. All pieces exhibit light to moderate wear, proper for Sullivan's limited activity. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
