    Description

1960 Boston Red Sox Game Worn Jersey, Number 5. Most likely worn by six-foot seven inch, 225-pound first baseman Ron Jackson due to the large size of this shirt, though manager Pinky Higgins also wore number "5" this season after Jackson's departure from the team mid-season. This classic home white flannel offers the instantly recognizable "Red Sox" arching across the chest, with number "5" in red and navy felt on verso. Tail has "Tim McAuliffe" label with "'60" year tag, though size tag is missing. Very minimal spotting on chest. Light but definite wear. One of eight offered Boston Red Sox flannels rescued from the club's Winter Haven, Florida spring training grounds by a Cypress Gardens theme park water skier. LOA from Lou Lampson.
