    Description

1958 Morrie Martin Game Worn & Signed Cleveland Indians Jersey, MEARS A9. Morrie Martin pitched eleven years at the big league level and finished with more wins than loses. He does have a rare distinction of walking more men than he struck out. The journeyman hurler wore this "MacGregor size 44" jersey when he pitched for the Cleveland Indians in 1958. The road representation has rightfully earned its grade of MEARS A9 and shows definite use. "Indians" is arched across the chest in two-color formation. The reverse digits are centered and show good use. The left sleeve contains the now discontinued laughing Indian patch. The cowl features a MacGregor tag while the inside reveals a "Set 2 1958" flag designator. One point was deducted for light staining near the top button. For the record, Chuck Churn wore this number in 1958 as well but he only appeared early in the season. This is a second set jersey. Martin signed the bottom in 8/10 black felt tip. LOA from MEARS, A9. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
