    Description

1958 Gus Zernial Game Worn Detroit Tigers Jersey. He's arguably the most underrated player of the post-war era, a feared slugger who trails only pinstriped Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra for most home runs hit in the 1950's American League at 232, five better than the legendary Ted Williams. It's up to the Heritage clientele to give Ozark Ike his due through aggressive bidding on this magnificent road grey flannel worn on visits to Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park during the penultimate season of his career. Navy tackle twill provides a scripted "Detroit" across the chest and number "9" on reverse. Interior collar is tagged "MacGregor Size 46" above a 9/10 blue sharpie "Gus 'Ozark Ike' Zernial" autograph. "Set 2 1958" flap tag appears at lower interior button path. Solid wear evident, but no distractions of staining or other damage. A nearly unimprovable specimen. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
