1957 Bob Buhl Game Worn Milwaukee Braves Uniform--World Championship Season!
The Braves would claim their first World Championship since the Miracle of 1914 this year, conquering the mighty Yankees in a tense seven-game World Series. While the thunderous bats of Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews were essential in that glorious achievement, many historians lay the credit for such dominance at the feet of an elite pitching rotation of Warren Spahn, Lew Burdette, Gene Conley and the original owner of this gorgeous full uniform.

Buhl went eighteen-and-seven in 1957 to post a winning percentage of .720, best not only within the Braves staff, but of the National League at large. His road grey ensemble begins with a zip-front jersey (fully-functional), bearing the team's classic tomahawk imagery at center of "Braves 10" text in red and black felt. Screaming Indian head patch remains affixed at left sleeve, with number "10" repeated on verso. Interior collar holds "Buhl" embroidered swatch, matching a "1957" example at lower left front tail beneath "Wilson [size] 42" and cleaning instruction labels.

Both embroidered swatches reappear at interior of matching pants along with "Wilson [size] 36" tagging and another washing instructions label. The year swatch is partially loose from its stitching here. A pair of striped stirrups completes the package. Condition is quite strong throughout, with a few scattered stains and a repaired tear just below the tomahawk on the jersey that is only apparent upon close inspection. One of the Majors' most beautiful uniforms, just begging for mannequin display. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
