1955 Ralph Kiner Game Worn Cleveland Indians Jersey. It's not entirely clear why, but game worn jerseys from the Hall of Fame career of Ralph Kiner simply don't exist in the collectibles hobby. In our auction results database of all major houses dating back to Halper in 1999, not a single representation is to be found. Certainly his rather short Major League tenure by Hall of Fame standards, just ten seasons, is partially to blame for the scarcity, and perhaps another hint is to be found in the very heavy wear of this specimen, suggesting multiple seasons of farm club use subsequent to Kiner's final Major League campaign. The others may simply have been worn to death in the minors.

Despite the multiple team repairs and the weakening of the fabric in the shoulders particularly, the jersey remains fully original and complete, presenting far better than its condition grade. The red and navy tackle twill "Indians" script and number "9" are present on front and reverse respectively, and the controversial Chief Wahoo patch is tacked down but original and unmoved on the left sleeve. Also stable are the embroidered swatches at interior collar and lower left front tail that announce "Kiner" and "1955" respectively. "Wilson [size] 44" and dry cleaning tags join the latter. A flawless black sharpie signature adorns the left chest. LOA from MEARS, A6 (due to condition only). LOA from Heritage Auctions.
