1955 Larry Jansen Game Issued New York Giants Jersey. Injuries to Jansen's pitching arm limited his contributions to the World Championship season of 1954, and by the time the 1955 season rolled around, it was clear that his best days were behind him. The pristine condition of this road grey gamer is due to Jansen's inactivity for the 1955 season, allowing the rare opportunity to own a nearly six decades-old Major League jersey that is essentially brand new. "New York" arches gently across the chest in the time-tested black and orange team font, with number "46" similarly applied to verso. "Jansen" is embroidered on a swatch at interior collar, with "46 5 in 1955" embroidered directly into the lower left front tail of the jersey beneath a "Tim McAuliffe" manufacturer's label. Literally the best-preserved jersey of this era we've ever encountered. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
