1954 Johnny Pesky Game Worn Detroit Tigers Uniform with Family Letter. As the namesake for an architectural feature of Boston's Fenway Park, Pesky is difficult to extricate from a Red Sox context, but we endeavor to do so here with a splendid home white flannel jersey and pants from his penultimate Major League campaign. His number "6" is retired from BoSox action, but here his number "7" adorns the jersey verso in the same navy blue felt that constructs the classic Old English letter "D" over the heart. Interior collar holds embroidered "Pesky J" swatch, while lower left front tail holds "Rawlings [size] 42" tagging set just above a washing instructions label trailing a "Set 1 1954" flap. Tail below is hand cut.

Matching pants likewise bear "Rawlings" labeling at interior waistband, framed by a washing instructions label and size "34" designator. Another "Set 1 1954" flap loiters nearby. Finally, we have a pair of navy stirrups. Light game wear evident throughout uniform, as Pesky made just twenty appearances this year. Letter of provenance from Pesky family. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
